A Drought-Tolerant, Low-Maintenance Landscape for a New Home

Client: Laurie G. · Project type: New construction landscape, front and back yard

The Challenge

Laurie G. was building a new home and needed a landscape to match it. Her priorities were clear: a front and back yard that was more sustainable, drought-tolerant and low maintenance. The landscape also had to work with the new home's architecture, and the hardscape had to help control erosion. Architects were part of the project, so the landscape plan also had to work alongside their design.

Our Approach

Our designer started by listening. Laurie's ideas and her top priorities shaped the plan from the first consultation. We worked directly with the project's architects so the landscape and the house were designed together, and we added our own recommendations where they could improve the result.

  • Planting: every planting was placed strategically to give it the best chance to grow and fill in.

  • Hardscape: designed to minimize erosion while complementing the home's architecture.

  • Sustainability: a drought-tolerant, low-maintenance plan for both the front and back yards.

After installation, we stood behind the plants with our plant guarantee and stayed quick to respond whenever Laurie had a question or concern.

The Result

The finished landscape gave the new home a front and back yard built around the homeowner's priorities: lower water needs, less upkeep, and hardscape that protects the site while suiting the architecture. In Laurie's words, the team turned her "landscaping vision into a beautiful reality."

"He made sure to focus on our top priorities and helped us create a more sustainable, drought-tolerant and low maintenance front and back yard." — Laurie G., Google review
